In an effort to cleanse the universe of the Korsul Armada the Advent ordered extensive scout missions to find the enemy stronghold. Before completing the directive, however, a major problem had planted itself between the Advent and the desired objective. Pirates. One location, where the Advent fleets of purity needed pass through, harbored a massive pirate infestation. It was believed to be the main base from which all raids have stemmed.
The Advent had massed its fleet around two of their frontier worlds, Jitka and Sibelius, with each consisting of two capital ships with twenty five smaller and mid-sized vessels. It was the largest collection of warships seen since the Great Purification that formed the Advent in the first place.
Both Advent fleets being in position, the order was given by the Central Apostate. "Let the cleansing of the pirate infestation begin." Phase jumps were initiated, both fleets were underway and Mitaka would tremble with astonishment at the numbers they faced.
The Jitka fleet arrived first, drawing the attention of the pirate vessels. Initially they had hope. Perhaps they would repel the assault with a little luck. Their horror was realized only after their attention was fully drawn to he first fleet, with their ship's aft sections bared for the arrival of the second fleet. First one, then by pairs, threes and fours the second fleet arrived, throwing the pirates into disarray.
What was hope quickly faded as the Advent beams slammed into the enemy ships, ripping into the hulls of the smaller vessels while buckling the shields of the larger ones. More quickly than the Advent had hoped the pirate fleet was reduced to a mere handful.
The order to commence attack on the main pirate base was given. "Cleanse them all! Let none survive!" A number of orbiting auto-canons were destroyed along the way, but the rest were left once the base was destroyed. They would be left as artifacts of victory and, perhaps, a reminder to all that passed through Mitaka of the might of the Advent.
